Rotate PDF

Rotate PDF pages 90°, 180° or 270°. Apply to all pages or specific pages.

About Rotate PDF

Scanners and phone cameras are notorious for producing sideways or upside-down pages. Rather than re-scanning, you can rotate pages in 90-degree steps and save a corrected copy in seconds.

You can rotate the whole document at once — the common case for a batch scan fed in the wrong way — or rotate individual pages when just one or two came out wrong. Rotation is lossless: the page content is untouched, only its display orientation changes.

How to use Rotate PDF

  1. 1

    Load the PDF

Drop your file in — page thumbnails show the current orientation of every page.

  2. 2

    Rotate pages

Rotate all pages together, or click individual pages to turn only those by 90°, 180°, or 270°.

  3. 3

    Check the preview

Thumbnails update as you go, so you can confirm every page reads the right way up.

  4. 4

    Save

Download the corrected PDF. The rotation is stored in the file, so it opens correctly everywhere.

Tips for better results

  • Rotation is lossless — you can rotate as many times as you like without degrading the file.
  • If a PDF opens sideways only in one app, it may be the app ignoring rotation flags; re-saving here fixes it permanently.
  • For scanned batches, rotating all pages at once is faster than fixing pages one by one.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I rotate specific pages only? +
Yes. Choose "All pages" to rotate the entire document, or select individual pages by entering their numbers.
Does rotation affect PDF quality? +
No. Rotation is a metadata operation — it does not re-render or re-compress the PDF content.
Can I rotate different pages by different amounts? +
Currently you rotate a selection of pages by a single angle. For complex rotation needs, rotate and download multiple times.
Will my PDF be permanently rotated? +
The downloaded PDF will have the rotation applied. Your original file is unchanged.
Are my files private? +
Yes. All rotation happens in your browser with pdf-lib. Nothing is uploaded to any server.
